Terrible customer service. When we arrived there were 4 employees working and 2 other groups in the winery. No one greeted us when we arrived and it was about 10 minutes before someone asked if we wanted to do a tasting. Server told us nothing about the wines and seemed annoyed when we asked questions. When paying $25 per tasting expect far better customer service. Staff seemed more interested in trying wines behind the bar versus taking care of the 6 people that were in the winery. We noticed other couples also experiencing the same lack of service. Very disappointing.
From the moment I pulled up to Tawse Winery, I knew I was in for something special. The property is spotless — polished, clean, and absolutely stunning. Rolling views of the vineyard stretch out in every direction like something out of a movie. It’s the kind of place where you just stop for a second and think: wow… life is pretty damn good. And then there was Meygan — our server and the true MVP of the day. Funny, relaxed, and the very definition of easygoing. She made everything feel natural and enjoyable, like hanging out with that one cool friend who just gets you. Even though this place has a real high-end vibe, she never once made me feel out of place. I’m a blue-collar person — definitely not fancy — but they treated me like a VIP from the second I stepped through the door. Now… the wine. Imagine the best day of your life — sunny skies, laughs, everything going absolutely perfect — mix all that together, pour it into a glass, and send it down the hatch. That is what this wine tasted like. Hands down, the best wine I’ve ever had in my entire life. It just slaps you right in the mouth with goodness, lol. I didn’t just grab a bottle on the way out — I bought four, because there was no chance I was leaving without bringing that magic home with me. The whole experience felt high-class but still totally welcoming, like a place you could go with friends or bring family and feel proud showing it off. And honestly? I can’t wait to come back again in the summer months because I already know it’s going to be even better. Sitting out in the warm weather with those views and that atmosphere — that’s going to be next-level perfect. Tawse Winery — best winery on the tour. Hands down. Already planning my next visit. ??

We had a splendid afternoon at Tawse this past weekend! Donatella was superb as our wine guide, and her recommendations were right in our wheelhouse. She definitely enhanced an already wonderful time!
Lovely experience. We travel to this area yearly and always try to visit smaller vineyards but another vineyard employee recommended checking out Tawse. We did and we are so glad! Gorgeous property. All staff were so welcoming the second we walked in. Gorgeous patio/garden/courtyard area. There was a live musician who was incredible (wish I caught his name but this was May 4th, 2024) if anyone knows him. We visited 7 wineries this day and it was the only one with live entertainment. Best Riesling I tried the whole weekend. Annette was the one who looked after us and she was so sweet, so welcoming and so knowledgeable. We asked about bring our own food in, since their kitchen wasn’t open. She wasn’t sure so she recommend we grab a picnic table just off the patio (we could still listen to the live music and enjoy the view) and she brought us out our glasses of wine to enjoy with our own snacks. She was amazing. All the staff were friendly. Don’t skip this place on the basis of it being a “bigger” winery. Worth the visit for so many reasons.
We have visited Tawse, our favourite winery, numerous times. Not only is their wine outstanding, and frankly world class, you can enjoy your wine on the beautiful patio, or you can choose a more casual spot watchimg the goats and overlooking the stunning Niagara Bench. The customer service is always excellent and they now offer some wonderful and delicious snacks to complement the wine. They also produce an excellent whiskey. Highly recommended!
Outstanding wines! Terrific venue! Most of all, exceptionally gifted customer service personnel! Can't recommend highly enough, and the vermouth ought to be deemed a "national treasure" - as a proud Canadian I'd put it up against anything from the old world!
